hp4350 GRINDING
my customer has a 4350 that is making a terrible grinding noise. The fuser gears appear to be fine, and i replaced the very slightly worn swing plate gears. I plugged the fuser back in and started up the printer, and it is still making the awful grinding noise. There is tension on the swing plate and I do not see any visible problems. I have a new swing plate assy. but I have a strange feeling this will not solve my problem...

Timeout here. I have done over 50 of these and have never seen the inside gear having an issue. First what you need to do is with the back fold down tray removed press in on the left side when looking from the rear when starting to print. Does the noise go away or diminish and the page print ok? If so two other possibilites. First the ledge the fuser rests on may have shifted down. Easy to fix. Just remove the formatter, top cover and right side cover. You will see three screws on each side which secure the ledge. Loosen all six and then lift up from the bottom and forward a bit and then while holding the ledge in this position tighen the screws. The other item is to check the blue latch that locks the fuser on the gear side. I have seen one where the metal reinforcement piece was missing causing the fuser not to lock tight on that side causing the noise.hp常见故障问题解答 2010-5-13 22:11:35
