Hello all. I am looking for some help with a Canon MP 830 Printer. When I turn the unit on I get an "Error 6000" on the printer LCD and a flashing alarm light.

I have done as much research as I can on this error code and I know that this is a code for a paper jam, but there are no visible pieces of paper stuck in the machine or in the document feeder. However, I think I know something else that might be causing it.

I have just bought this unit used and when I got it home (before I plugged it in). I noticed there was alot of black ink on the bottom rear of the unit. A small puddle (about a teaspoon) of ink leaked out onto the desktop when I tipped the unit on its back to open the access door on the bottom.

My theory is that this printer was stored on its side or even upside down with cartridges in it and some ink has leaked internally. I am wondering if this ink could have fouled any of the paper jam sensors.

Anyone have any thoughts on my theory? Better yet, can anyone give any advice on how I tackle removing the case from the printer? Or even better, can anyone tell me where the paper jam sensors are?
