hp LaserJet 4250 error 13.01

Error 13.01 would appear/power cycle same results w/ tray1 and tray2.Removed right side cover/ tray2 selnoid would release ok 1st page/ next page selnoid would not release hence error 13.01 would appear/ replaced tray2 selnoid. Same results. Precision Roller(tech support),printer receiving signal that there is a paper jam (tray2)there/ Look??? none Removed tray1 paper pick-up ass'y
defaulted paper path sensor error 13.02 appeared/removed default/ error 13.02 cleared/tested printer tray2 again same results. PR (tech support) maybe DC controler board.How to test DC controller board to see if -24 volt signal is beening sent to tray2 selnoid.
Or there is somthing else causing this problem????

First off I am not fully understanding your post. Does the printer do the same from both trays? In other words does tray 1 and tray 2 both print the first page and then give a jam message on the second or is it limited to tray 2? If both trays I would lean towards a bad dc controller and I know of no way of testing except with replacment. That said you need to have the printer in a stand-a-lone mode with just the power connected and use the diagnostics menu to print paper path test of 10 sheets from each of the trays and report the results. You also need to look from the rear of tray 2 to see if after the 1st sheet is printed the paper in the tray does not move downward which could indicate a lifter motor issue or sensor flag issue. Keep in mind if the first sheet prints, then the selenoid and paper pickup assembly are ok and your issue has to be timing due to sensor flag movement issues or dc controller problems. Using the printer menu diagnostics paper path test will tell us a lot.
