It recently got a sheet of paper rapped round the roller, and as I still had 6 months warranty left, I took it back to Staples to see if they could remove the jam for me, as I still had 6months warranty left.
A week goes by and I get a phone call saying that they will not repair the printer as I have been using incompatible cartridges, and id have to pay out ?90 for a new set of toners, and a new waste ink tank, whereas before I took it in it was fine, it seems it has been reprogrammed to stop me using it until I replace all the consumables :( grrr
Has anybody got any ideas how I could reprogram it my self, and save ?90?
Encase its any help, I found out that if I turn the printer off, hold down the stop/reset key, and turn it on, it shows the message "download mode", and when you press the stop button to go to the next step, it says waiting for image, and then nothing else happens.
I would be very great full if anybody could help me reprogram my printer.

I didn't know they had Staples in the UK. While the paper getting wrapped around a roller wouldn't have anything to do with the cartridges, they can use that as an out in denying the warranty claim. I don't know the laws over there, but there's a possibility that they are out of line in doing so. In any case, removing a paper jam would not be covered under warranty as that's not a failure of any components. I don't know what the printers sell for over there, but $399 is the retail here in the US for a new printer, which is about 225 lbs under current exchange rates.
As for resetting
